What Does Albinder Thindsa’s Appointment Mean for Zomato and Blinkit?

Eternal, the parent company of Zomato and Blinkit, has announced a key leadership transition at the top. Founder and Managing Director Deepinder Goyal has resigned from his role as CEO and MD, with Albinder Thindsa, currently the CEO of Blinkit, appointed as his successor.

The company stated that the changes will come into effect from February 1, following approval by the board of directors at its meeting held on Wednesday. Albinder Thindsa will assume charge as Chief Executive Officer of Eternal, overseeing the group’s consolidated operations.

In a letter addressed to shareholders, Deepinder Goyal said he stepped down from his executive role to take on broader strategic responsibilities. The board has appointed him as Vice-Chairman and Director for a period of five years, subject to shareholder approval, the company confirmed.

Meanwhile, Eternal reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 102 crore for the third quarter ended December, marking a 72.88 percent year-on-year increase. The company’s Quick Commerce segment witnessed sharp growth, with revenue surging to Rs 12,256 crore, compared to Rs 1,399 crore in the corresponding period last year.
