Ducati Formula 73 Limited Edition
Bengaluru: Italian premium motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has introduced the limited-edition Formula 73 motorcycle as part of its 100th anniversary celebrations. The new model pays tribute to the brand’s rich racing heritage, drawing inspiration from the iconic Ducati 750 Supersport Desmo of the 1970s.
Blending classic aesthetics with modern engineering, the Formula 73 features a silver and aqua-green paint scheme that reflects its vintage racing roots. A distinctive vertical golden stripe on the fuel tank adds to its retro appeal an element historically used by racers to estimate fuel levels. The motorcycle also sports low-set handlebars and round headlamps, reinforcing its cafe racer styling.
Engine and Performance
The Formula 73 is powered by an 803cc air-cooled engine that produces 73 horsepower and 65.2 Nm of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox and a slipper clutch, ensuring smooth gear transitions and enhanced riding control. Ducati states that the motorcycle has been engineered not only for performance but also to deliver a refined and engaging riding experience.
Lightweight Yet Robust Design
Despite its vintage-inspired appearance, the motorcycle incorporates advanced components. It features an aqua-green steel trellis frame, maintaining structural rigidity while enhancing its classic look. Weighing 183 kg (without fuel), the bike is designed for agile handling.
The model rides on 17-inch spoke aluminium wheels fitted with premium Pirelli tyres. For braking duties, Ducati has equipped the Formula 73 with high-performance Brembo disc brakes, ensuring superior stopping power even at high speeds.
Price and Availability
As a limited-edition offering, only 873 units of the Formula 73 will be produced globally. Each motorcycle carries a unique serial number and comes with a special ownership certificate.
The bike is priced at approximately ₹17 lakh (around 15,095). It is expected to arrive in European markets in the coming months, with a broader global rollout, including India, anticipated by the end of 2026.
