Flying Flea C6 Electric Motorcycle: Two-wheeler manufacturer Royal Enfield has unveiled its new electric vehicle brand, Flying Flea, along with its first model, the Flying Flea C6, at a special showcase event in Bengaluru. The retro-inspired electric motorcycle marks the company’s entry into the fast-growing urban electric mobility segment.

Positioned as a City+ lifestyle vehicle, the Flying Flea C6 has been designed primarily for urban commuting. The motorcycle combines lightweight construction, agility, and smart technology to deliver a seamless riding experience tailored for modern city conditions.

One of the key highlights of the C6 is its re-engineered forged aluminium girder fork. Inspired by early motorcycle design, the iconic girder suspension system has been redesigned using contemporary engineering and materials to enhance handling, structural strength, and durability. The model also features an articulating mudguard, reflecting a blend of tradition and innovation in its overall design philosophy.

Speaking at the event, Royal Enfield’s Chief Growth Officer Mario Alvisi stated that the company plans to begin exporting the first batch of Flying Flea electric motorcycles within a year. The new electric range will be manufactured at the company’s existing production facility in Vallam Vadagal, Tamil Nadu.

Royal Enfield is developing its battery technology in-house and has entered into a software partnership with Qualcomm to enhance its electric mobility platform. The company has reportedly filed around 50 provisional patents covering controllers, motors, battery systems, and electrical architecture.

According to Alvisi, the C6 has been developed keeping in mind the rapidly evolving electric vehicle ecosystem, including infrastructure and technological advancements. While primarily intended for short urban trips, the model also aims to offer a versatile riding experience beyond city limits.

Flying Flea is expected to expand its electric portfolio with multiple products in the coming years, as Royal Enfield looks to tap into a new customer base and strengthen its presence in the global electric two-wheeler market.
