Volvo EX60 EV: Volvo has unveiled the world’s first electric vehicle powered by Google Gemini AI, marking a major breakthrough in the global automotive industry. The Swedish automaker has introduced the all-new mid-size electric SUV, EX60, which blends advanced artificial intelligence with high-performance electric mobility. The vehicle is set to launch globally on January 21, 2026.
More than just an electric car, the Volvo EX60 functions as a smart, AI-driven mobility platform. Powered by Google Gemini AI, the SUV offers next-generation human-like interaction, advanced automation, and intelligent assistance, redefining how drivers interact with their vehicles.
AI That Talks Like a Human
The standout feature of the Volvo EX60 EV is its Google Gemini AI system. Unlike conventional voice assistants, Gemini AI allows natural, conversational interaction. Drivers can control climate settings, navigation, and vehicle functions through simple spoken commands. The AI understands context, responds intelligently, and interacts much like a human assistant.
Gmail and Calendar Integration
The AI system seamlessly integrates with Gmail and calendar services. Drivers can review meeting schedules, receive reminders, and directly input addresses from emails into the navigation system. Gemini AI can also read important schedule updates aloud while driving, enhancing safety and convenience.
Intelligent Vision and Processing
Equipped with 360-degree cameras and advanced AI vision, the EX60 can identify surroundings in real time. Drivers can ask the system about nearby buildings or landmarks and receive instant responses. The vehicle uses ultra-fast processing chips from NVIDIA and Qualcomm to analyze data in real time.
Battery, Range, and Performance
Built on Volvo’s new SPA3 800-volt electric platform, the EX60 is offered in three variants:
P6 (RWD): Produces 374 hp with an 80 kWh battery, delivering up to 620 km range.
P10 (AWD): Generates 503 hp with a 91 kWh battery and offers up to 720 km range.
P12 (AWD): The flagship variant produces 670 hp, accelerates from 0–100 km/h in 3.5 seconds, and delivers up to 810 km range.
Ultra-Fast Charging and V2H Support
The Volvo EX60 supports 400 kW ultra-fast charging, allowing up to 400 km of range to be added in just 10 minutes. The SUV also features vehicle-to-home (V2H) technology, enabling users to power household appliances using the car’s battery.
Interior and Advanced Features
Inside, the EX60 features a premium 15-inch OLED touchscreen, a high-end Bowers & Wilkins sound system, and a Tesla-compatible NACS charging port. Built using advanced mega-casting technology, the vehicle is both lightweight and structurally robust.
Booking and Availability
Volvo has opened bookings for the EX60 EV in Europe, while U.S. bookings are expected to begin in the summer of 2026. With its blend of luxury, artificial intelligence, and high-performance electric technology, the EX60 is positioned as a strong contender in the premium EV segment.
