Darling Movie Review

Overview: "Darling," directed by Ashwin Ram, stars Priyadarshi and Nabha Natesh. Produced by the makers of the "Hanuman" movie under Prime Show Entertainments, it was released in theaters on July 19.

Plot: Raghav (Priyadarshi) is a diligent student whose life goal is to marry a good girl and honeymoon in Paris. His marriage is arranged with psychologist Nandini (Ananya Nagalla), but she elopes with her lover on the wedding day. Distraught, Raghav contemplates suicide but meets Anandi (Nabha Natesh), who stops him. Raghav proposes to Anandi and marries her on the same day.

Analysis: The film tackles split personalities with a mix of humor and emotion, unlike the more serious tone of previous films on similar topics. The first half is comedic, focusing on Raghav's dreams, marriage, and the chaos of Anandi's personality. The interval reveals her multiple personalities and the second half depicts the challenges Raghav faces with these personalities and his family's involvement.

Performances:

  • Priyadarshi impresses with his comedic and emotional portrayal of Raghav, delivering a strong performance as a husband dealing with his wife's issues.
  • Nabha Natesh shines, effectively portraying five distinct personalities, marking a commendable comeback after an accident.
  • Ananya Nagalla performs well as a psychologist.
  • Supporting Cast: Suhas and Niharika in guest roles, and Brahmanandam, Raghubabu, Vishnu, Krishna Teja, and Murali Goud, among others, deliver satisfactory performances.

Conclusion: "Darling" humorously and emotionally portrays a husband's struggles with his wife's multiple split personalities. With a mix of comedy and drama, it earns a rating of 2.75.
