Yash's Toxic Movie Faces Controversy Over Environmental Violations
The movie Toxic, starring Yash, has faced controversy over environmental concerns, with authorities issuing showcause notices to the crew for cutting trees during filming in Bangalore's Peenya area.

The movie Toxic, starring Kannada actor Yash, has faced controversy during its shoot. The movie is being directed by Geethu Mohan Das, and the team has been accused of causing environmental damage by cutting down trees during filming. The authorities have issued a showcause notice to the film crew in response to these allegations. Karnataka's Forest Minister, Eshwar B. Khandre, confirmed the issue.
The Toxic movie's shoot has been ongoing since October of the previous year in the Peenya region near Bangalore. Complaints were made about the cutting down of hundreds of trees and the construction of large sets for the film. Minister Eshwar Khandre visited the location to assess the situation and gather details about the land. Following this, officials sent notices to the producers of the movie.
There are allegations that the area where the Toxic movie is being filmed was leased to the Hindustan Machine Tools (HMT) company. The case is currently under judicial review. The government has contested the decision to de-notify the area without approval from the cabinet. Amid this controversy, officials have asked the film crew to halt the shooting. If the shooting is delayed, the release of the film, initially scheduled for December, may be further postponed.
