Bhairavam Movie Review
Following the success of Nandi and Ugram, director Vijay Kanakamedala returns with Bhairavam, a Telugu remake of the 2016 Tamil film Garudaan, aiming to deliver another gripping action drama. This commercial action-drama attempts to blend suspense, emotion, and a temple-centered mystery.
Story:
In a village housing the Varahi Amman temple, a group tries to steal sacred ornaments and documents. Bellamkonda Sreenivas, Manchu Manoj, and Nara Rohit are drawn into the conflict.
Analysis:
Vijay Kanakamedala tries to retain the original film’s tone, with a slow first half but an engaging second half boosted by emotional scenes. Bellamkonda Sreenivas attempts a slightly different role, showing performance improvement, though the film doesn't fully benefit from the director’s experience.
Performances:
- Bellamkonda Sreenivas delivers a better performance than in his previous works, especially in emotional scenes. Manchu Manoj makes a solid comeback with a key role, while Nara Rohit adds weight to the cast.
Technical Aspects:
- The music and background score fall short. Cinematography is mixed, with some visually jarring shots. Editing could have been sharper, but production values are satisfactory.
Pros:
- Emotional scenes
- Engaging climax
Cons:
- Weak music
- Unnecessary scenes
- Some illogical sequences
Rating: 2.25/5
