Hrithik Katakam selected for India Junior Davis Cup team
Hyderabad: In a significant achievement for the city, 15-year-old tennis player Hrithik Katakam has been selected to represent India in the upcoming Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup Final Qualifying Tournament.
Hrithik earned his place in the three-member Indian squad following an impressive performance at the selection trials held in New Delhi, where he won all four of his matches to finish at the top of the rankings. Currently ranked third in the national junior singles category, he continues to establish himself as one of India’s most promising young talents.
Training under coach Henry Praveen at the Trinity Challengers Tennis Academy in Hyderabad, Hrithik’s consistent performances have been instrumental in securing his selection.
The Asia-Oceania Junior Davis Cup Qualifiers are scheduled to take place in Kazakhstan from May 18 to 23. Alongside Hrithik, the Indian team will also feature Ribhav Saroha from Chandigarh and Tavish Pahwa from Haryana.
The tournament presents a crucial opportunity for India’s young tennis players to compete at an international level and qualify for the final stages of the prestigious Junior Davis Cup.
