Dissatisfaction in the United States Over Trump’s Immigration Policies

US Immigration Policies Face Growing Backlash as Trump Approval Ratings Decline

Trump’s Immigration Policies: Public dissatisfaction with President Donald Trump’s immigration policies in the United States is increasing, according to a recent public opinion survey. Support for the administration’s immigration approach has declined noticeably, with many Americans expressing concern that the measures have become excessively harsh.

The findings were revealed in a Reuters-Ipsos poll conducted between Friday and Sunday, both before and after a fatal incident involving immigration enforcement agents. The survey indicates that only 39 percent of respondents currently approve of Trump’s immigration decisions, down from 41 percent in the previous poll. Meanwhile, 53 percent of those surveyed said they oppose the government’s approach.

As part of a broader crackdown, the Trump administration has expanded the deployment of immigration agents across several regions of the United States. During enforcement operations in Minneapolis, clashes reportedly broke out on Saturday, resulting in the death of a U.S. citizen. The incident has further intensified public scrutiny of immigration enforcement tactics.

Since beginning his second term, President Trump has tightened immigration regulations nationwide. Initially, these measures received significant public approval, with around 50 percent of respondents expressing support in February. However, the latest data suggests that public confidence in the administration’s immigration policies has weakened over time.
