RITES Invites Applications for 600 Senior Technical Assistant Positions

Gurgaon, Haryana, India: Rail India Technical and Economic Services Limited (RITES) has announced 600 openings for the role of Senior Technical Assistant. The recruitment will be on a contractual basis for one year, with a possibility of extension.

The selection process will consist of two stages. The first stage is a written examination, followed by a certificate verification process.

Phase-1: Written Test

  • The initial test will be objective in nature, comprising 125 questions. Each question carries one mark, and there will be no negative marking. The total duration of the test is two and a half hours, with an additional 50 minutes granted to candidates with disabilities. The minimum qualifying score is 50% for General/EWS candidates and 45% for SC/ST/OBC-NCL/PwD candidates.

Phase-2: Certificate Verification

  • During this phase, candidates’ educational qualifications, age, and experience certificates will be scrutinized. All relevant documents must be uploaded during the application process; applications lacking necessary certificates will not progress to the next stage.

Medical Examination

Shortlisted candidates will undergo a medical checkup after verification of written test results and certificates. Final selections will be made category-wise.

Eligibility & Key Highlights

  1. Candidates must have a diploma in Civil, Electrical, Mechanical, Science & Technology, Metallurgy, Chemical, or Petrochemical Engineering, or a B.Sc. in Chemistry with at least two years of experience. Engineering graduates and postgraduates are also eligible but will receive pay equivalent to diploma holders.
  2. The maximum age limit is 40 years, with age relaxations applicable for reserved categories as per government norms.
  3. Application fees: Rs. 300 for General/OBC, Rs. 100 for SC/ST/PwD/EWS candidates. The fee will be refunded for SC/ST/PwD candidates who appear for the written test.
  4. Salary: Rs. 29,735 per month, along with additional allowances. Candidates posted in certain cities will receive location-based extra pay.
  5. Exam centers: Delhi/Gurugram, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Kolkata, Guwahati, Bhubaneswar, Hyderabad, Bhilai, Chennai, Ranchi, Ahmedabad, Patna, and Lucknow.

  • The written exam date has been announced, so candidates are encouraged to start preparing immediately. Remember, there is no negative marking. Focus first on answering questions you know, and attempt the unknown ones later — every minute counts.
