Hyderabadi Mutton Haleem Recipe

Delicious Mutton haleem ingredients and making process

Ingredients required

Mutton: 1kg

Wheat flour: 1/2kg

Chana pappu (groundnut) ; 1/2 cup

Pesar dal; 1/2 cup

Moong dal; 1/2 cup

Ginger Garlic Paste: 1tbsp

Red Chilli Powder: 3tsp

Turmeric powder: 3tsp

Coriander powder: 3tsp

Big Cardamom: 3

Chopped Onions: 5

Cumin: 1 tsp

Black pepper: 8 to 10

Garam masala powder: 1tsp

Mint leaves: As required

Coriander: As required

Salt: Adequate to taste

A cup of oil

How to prepare Haleem:

  •  To make Haleem, soak ravani (big rava) in water for 8 hours.
  • Soak all the pulses in another vessel for 4 to 5 hours.
  • Put the pressure cooker on gas and add the soaked dal and ghee.
  • Then add some water and salt to it and cover the cooker.
  • After 5 to 6 whistles, switch off the gas let it cool down a bit, and mix.
  • Now add mutton, a little water, salt, red chilies, ginger garlic paste, turmeric, cloves, and cardamom in a pressure cooker and cook till three whistles.
  • Now heat oil in a large pan, add chopped onion, and fry until light brown.
  • In the same oil add spices and prepared mutton and fry for 10 to 15 minutes.
  • Now add enough salt and water to taste and cover.
  • Cook this whole mixture for 10 minutes on low flame.
  • Turn off the stove after 10 minutes, remove the lid after steaming, and taste and check the saltiness.
  • Sprinkle garam masala powder, lemon chaat masala, onion, and green coriander and serve hot. That's all Mutton Haleem is ready.
