In a video message from her hospital bed, Zia praised the youth for making the "impossible possible" and urged the creation of a new Bangladesh that respects all religions and upholds democracy.

She highlighted the nation's transition from a "fascist government" and the importance of building a future of peace and prosperity. Zia, who was imprisoned in 2018 under Sheikh Hasina’s regime, was released after Hasina’s resignation and the formation of an interim government.
