Mumbai, Maharashtra, India: Dhurandhar Actress Saumya Tandon Unable to Locate Her Name on Voter Roll During Maharashtra Civic Elections
Saumya Tandon said, "Even after confirming my name online, I was asked to go to a different place"
Saumya Tandon, who is currently gaining attention for her performance in Ranveer Singh’s upcoming film Dhurandhar, experienced uncertainty on Thursday morning when she was unable to find her name on the voter list during the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation elections. Before stepping out to vote, the actress had verified her voting details online. However, once she reached the assigned polling station, election officials redirected her to another location, which left her puzzled.
Describing the incident, Saumya told news agency ANI, "I went to cast my vote after checking all my details online. There was a help desk near my building where people guided me to this polling booth. I had even saved a screenshot."
She further explained, "But after arriving here, they are now asking me to go elsewhere, saying my information appears at another polling center online. Earlier in the day, the website showed Dalmia College as my location. I do not understand why there is so much confusion. After checking my name online, they told me to report to a different place."
Emphasizing the importance of voting, Saumya said, "Voting is both my right and my responsibility. I want to vote." She also questioned whether her name was actually included in the voter list.
Voting took place across 29 municipal corporations in Maharashtra on January 15, and the counting of votes is scheduled for today.
Saumya Tandon has appeared in several popular television shows such as Aisa Des Hai Mera, Meri Awaz Ko Mil Gayi Roshni where she played Ria Sahani, Khushi, and Bhabiji Ghar Par Hain, among others
