Two Kerala Women Lose Their Lives in California, Suspect Detained

San Jose, California, USA: Two women from Kerala were brutally murdered in California, USA, in an incident that has shocked their families and the Malayali community. The deceased have been identified as Anjana, 35, from Mudikkode near Thrissur, and Ann Mary Mathew, 40, from Kesavadasapuram in Thiruvananthapuram.
According to the victims' relatives, a woman identified as Anila, who reportedly lives in the same apartment complex, may have been involved in the incident. San Jose police have taken Anila into custody and are investigating the case.
The incident is believed to have occurred on Friday afternoon. Relatives alleged that the suspect entered Ann Mary's residence and stabbed her to death. Anjana was reportedly struck by a car and died. While a job-related dispute is suspected to be linked to the attack on Ann Mary, the exact circumstances surrounding Anjana's death have not yet been established.
Ann Mary had been working as an engineer in the United States for the past 10 years. Her husband, Pallatra Jacob, also lives in the US.
Anjana had been working as a teacher for the past six years. Her husband, Vijesh, is also employed in California.
Meanwhile, Thrissur Collector Shikha Surendran said that officials are collecting details about the incident and forwarding the information to the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Steps are also being taken to facilitate the repatriation of the victims' bodies to Kerala.
The investigation by San Jose police is continuing, and further details regarding the motive and circumstances of the deaths are awaited.
