Hyderabad: A 27-year-old man from Hyderabad died at his residence in Lowell, Massachusetts, in the United States on September 14, just 17 days after his wedding. His family has sought government assistance to bring his mortal remains back to Hyderabad.
Mohammed Jaber Hussain, a resident of Santoshnagar, Hyderabad, had moved to the United States in 2021 to pursue higher studies in civil engineering. He later completed his studies and began working in Massachusetts.
Hussain got married in Texas on August 28 and subsequently returned to Massachusetts, where he was living and working. According to reports, he was found dead while asleep at his residence in Lowell.
Hussain had last spoken with his family on September 14. Hours later, his family was informed about his death. The exact cause of death has not yet been established, and his family is awaiting the post-mortem and medical reports.
Following the incident, Hussain's family approached Majlis Bachao Tehreek (MBT) spokesperson Amjed Ullah Khan for assistance. Khan has appealed to External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar to intervene and direct the concerned Indian mission in the United States to coordinate with local authorities and assist with the repatriation of Hussain's mortal remains.
The family has also sought financial assistance, saying that arranging the transportation of the remains from the United States to Hyderabad would be difficult for them.
The family is now awaiting further medical and official reports regarding the circumstances of Hussain's death and assistance in bringing his mortal remains back to Hyderabad for the final rites.
