The red alert covers Central Delhi, East Delhi, New Delhi, North Delhi, Northeast Delhi, Northwest Delhi, Shahdara, South Delhi, Southeast Delhi, Southwest Delhi and West Delhi.

According to the weather department, thunderstorms and lightning could pose risks to residents, while strong winds may cause trees and electricity poles to fall. Authorities have also warned of possible waterlogging in low-lying areas and traffic disruptions across the national capital due to heavy rainfall.

Residents have been advised to avoid unnecessary travel and stay away from dilapidated buildings and trees during adverse weather conditions. The government has directed disaster management teams and municipal authorities to remain on alert and be prepared to respond to emergencies.
