The World Health Organization (WHO) has declared the Monkey Pox epidemic that is creating chaos in African countries as a global public health emergency. Mpax has spread to around 70 countries. Officials claim that 100 people have died from Mpox so far.
He said that more than 17 thousand suspected cases have been registered. WHO has declared a global public health emergency in the wake of increasing cases of Mpox. This is the second time that WHO has announced this in the last two years. The World Health Organization says an outbreak of monkey pox viral infection in Congo has spread to 12 other neighboring countries.
Mpox is also known as Monkeypox. It was first identified in 1958 when a pox-like disease broke out in monkeys. Recently, Mpox cases have emerged in central and western Africa among people who have had close contact with infected animals.
Monkeypox victims also have symptoms like fever, sore throats, fatigue, and skin rashes. The rash causes pain. There are suspicions that the monkeypox disease, which has already ended in South Africa, may have spread to other countries because of homosexuality.
The world has known about monkeypox for decades. A vaccine for its antidote has always been available. Smallpox vaccine is given to monkeypox victims. It has been proven to work effectively. The Bavarian Nordic Company of Denmark is the only manufacturer of monkeypox vaccines.
