Nikhil Gupta's Argument In New York Court In Pannu Homicide Case

Nikhil Gupta, an Indian-origin individual charged with the murder of Khalistan terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannu, was presented in the New York Federal Court.

The court adjourned the hearing to June 28 after the arguments.

Gupta, 52, was extradited from the Czech Republic to the United States last week. He is accused of hiring an assassin to kill Pannu, allegedly on the orders of a high-ranking Indian government official.

During the hearing, US federal prosecutors claimed Gupta paid the hitman an advance of $15,000. Gupta, however, asserted that he was being unfairly accused.

Currently held at the Federal Metropolitan Detention Center in Brooklyn, Gupta was denied bail and ordered to remain in custody until the next hearing.

A video showing the Czech Republic police handing over Gupta to US authorities has surfaced and is circulating on social media.
