Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a significant visit to Maharashtra's Palghar and Mumbai tomorrow, focusing on inaugurating and laying the foundation stones for key development projects. The visit will begin at around 11 AM with his address at the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024 held at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The GFF, organized by prominent financial bodies, will feature approximately 800 speakers and over 350 sessions, highlighting the latest advancements in fintech. Additionally, more than 20 thought leadership reports will be presented, offering valuable industry insights.
Following the GFF, the Prime Minister will head to Palghar's CIDCO ground at 1:30 PM to commence several major development projects. A central highlight will be the foundation stone laying of Vadhvan Port, a major endeavor costing around Rs. 76,000 crores. This deep-water port, situated near Dahanu in Palghar district, is set to become one of India’s largest maritime gateways, equipped with advanced technology to handle large container vessels and ultra-large cargo ships. The project is expected to enhance trade, create employment opportunities, and significantly contribute to the region’s economic growth.
In addition to the Vadhvan Port, the Prime Minister will inaugurate 218 fisheries projects valued at Rs. 1,560 crores, aimed at boosting infrastructure and productivity in the fisheries sector and potentially generating over five lakh jobs. He will also launch the National Roll Out of the Vessel Communication and Support System, costing around Rs. 360 crores, which will enhance safety and communication for fishermen through the installation of transponders. Further initiatives include the development of fishing harbors, Integrated Aquaparks, and the adoption of advanced technologies to improve fish production and sustainability across various states.
