A day after being retired out, Harleen Deol answered the debate in emphatic fashion with an unbeaten 64, guiding UP Warriorz to their first win of the Women's Premier League 2026 season.

Deol’s composed knock powered UP Warriorz to a confident seven-wicket victory over Mumbai Indians, ending a three-match losing streak. She was named Player of the Match and said the win was crucial for the team, adding that she had put the previous game’s disappointment behind her.

“I was batting well yesterday too,” Deol said, explaining that there was no change in her preparation. She felt that sometimes it simply comes down to the day and conditions, and credited the team’s belief and support for helping her stay focused.

UP Warriorz captain Meg Lanning praised the team’s response and Deol’s calmness under pressure, saying the side had shown good signs earlier but needed consistency. She added that internal discussions helped rebuild confidence.

Mumbai Indians skipper Harmanpreet Kaur felt her team fell slightly short of a par total and acknowledged the impact of dew during the chase, while giving full credit to Deol for her match-winning innings.
