Hyderabad Cricketer to Lead India B Team in U-19 Tri-Series
Hyderabad, Telangana, India: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced the Indian squads for the upcoming U-19 tri-series featuring Afghanistan. The competition will include Afghanistan U-19, India A, and India B teams. Vihaan Malhotra will captain India A, while Hyderabad’s Aaron George has been appointed as the captain of India B.
Aaron recently led Hyderabad to victory in the BCCI’s prestigious U-19 Vinoo Mankad Trophy, where his outstanding performance played a crucial role in the team’s success. Over the past three seasons, he has consistently been among the top run-scorers in the tournament. In the latest edition, he amassed 373 runs, including two centuries. He has also continued his impressive form in the ongoing U-19 Challenger Trophy.
Aaron’s journey began three years ago when he earned a spot in the Hyderabad Under-16 team after excelling in school-level cricket. His performances in the Vijay Merchant Trophy drew attention, and in the 2022–23 season, he recorded 511 runs, featuring a remarkable triple century. Currently, Aaron is pursuing his B.Com first year at Bhavan’s College, Hyderabad.
Speaking about his aspirations, Aaron said, “My goal is to represent India in cricket at any level. I believe my current form and the opportunities I’m receiving are important steps toward that dream. Playing for the U-19 team could also open doors for me to join the IPL.”
Although originally from Kerala, Aaron was born and raised in Hyderabad and often visits his grandparents’ home in Kottayam
