Placement data from NIT Jamshedpur for the academic year 2024–25 clearly indicates a growing corporate inclination toward ECE compared to CSE.

The highest salary package offered to CSE students was ?82 lakh.

An ECE student also received the same top package of ?82 lakh.

Notably, 64 CSE students secured internships, while 73 ECE students were selected—showing stronger interest in ECE.

Companies Prefer Multi-Skilled Engineers

Modern tech companies want engineers who can work comfortably with both software and hardware technologies, rather than focusing only on coding. ECE students, who study both domains, have a natural advantage in this regard.
