JSW: The JSW Group is preparing for a major foray into the automobile industry under its newly formed brand, JSW Motors. The company is gearing up to introduce its first SUV, the Jetur T2, in the Indian market through a partnership with China based Chery Automobile subsidiary Jetur. Assembly operations for this model will take place at a newly established manufacturing facility in Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.

The Jetur T2 from JSW Motors carries a bold and premium design that closely resembles luxury SUVs such as the Land Rover Defender. Despite being configured as a five seater, the SUV stretches to a length of 4,785 mm, making it larger than competitors like the Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari currently available in India. A long wheelbase of 2,800 mm along with a ground clearance of 220 mm ensures confident performance across challenging terrains.

With a strong focus on sustainability, JSW is introducing the Jetur T2 with a 1.5 litre plug in hybrid powertrain. In international markets, the SUV is offered in two configurations. The first variant delivers 224 PS of power, while the advanced tri motor setup produces an impressive 462 PS along with 700 Nm of torque. Multiple drive options including Pure Electric Mode and Hybrid Mode allow drivers to enjoy emission free city travel as well as powerful petrol driven performance on extended highway journeys.

The cabin of the Jetur T2 is designed to impress with a premium and technology rich layout. A massive 15.6 inch touchscreen dominates the dashboard, while a 12 speaker sound system from Sony elevates the in car audio experience. The SUV also comes equipped with advanced safety and convenience features such as a panoramic sunroof, 360 degree camera, blind spot monitoring, and level 2 ADAS. Powering the infotainment and vehicle systems is the Snapdragon 8155 smart chip.

JSW Motors is expected to introduce the Jetur T2 in India around the Diwali season of 2026. Pricing is likely to fall between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 45 lakh. Alongside the hybrid model, the company is also exploring the possibility of launching a fully electric version in the future. Overall, the Jetur T2 is poised to make a strong impact and significantly shake up the Indian SUV market.
