The good news is that the Yamaha RX100 is set to make a comeback in the Indian market very soon. Recognizing the enduring popularity of iconic bikes among the youth, the Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer, Yamaha, is planning to reintroduce the RX100 in a new and improved avatar in India.
Equipped with a powerful 225.9cc engine, the RX225 produces 20.1bhp of power and 19.93Nm of peak torque, marking a significant upgrade from its predecessor. Reports suggest that the bike has been designed to meet the stringent emissions requirements of BS6 Phase 2. The expected price range for this new Yamaha bike is between Rs. 1.25 lakh and Rs. 1.50 lakhs.
Although there's speculation about the name, with the possibility of it being called the RX225, no official announcement has been made by the company. This isn't the first time such reports have surfaced;
The Yamaha RX100 holds a special place among popular bikes from the 1980s till now, being one of the most cherished models. Yamaha produced this two-stroke motorcycle from 1985 to 1996, introducing various new models until 2005. However, due to stricter emission norms implemented by the Government of India, Yamaha discontinued the RX100 along with all two-stroke motorcycles. After years of absence, the company is now gearing up to reintroduce the beloved bike in a fresh and exciting new avatar.
