Bangkok air pollution school closures
Air pollution in Bangkok has forced the closure of over 350 schools, with the city ranked as the seventh-most polluted major city globally by IQAir. Seasonal pollution, caused by stagnant winter air, crop burning, and vehicle emissions, has worsened this week, leading to the most school closures since 2020. The Bangkok Metropolitan Administration reported the closure of 352 schools across 31 districts and urged residents to work from home while restricting heavy vehicles. On Thursday alone, more than 250 schools were closed.
