Hyderabad, Telangana, India: Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy stated that the state is now home to over 25 major international companies and more than 1,500 MSMEs. He highlighted that Telangana’s forward-looking industrial and MSME policies stand among the most efficient in the country.

On Wednesday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the LEAP Engine MRO (Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul) facility at GMR Aeropark (SEZ) in the Shamshabad region near Hyderabad. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy attended the ceremony and addressed the gathering, expressing appreciation to Safran for choosing Hyderabad as its preferred location. He said the newly launched centre would significantly contribute to Telangana’s aerospace and defence ecosystem. This is India’s first dedicated MRO centre for LEAP engines.

The facility, established with an investment of ₹1,300 crore, is expected to employ over 1,000 trained engineers and technicians. The Chief Minister said the project would create fresh opportunities for local MSMEs and engineering firms. He also noted that the foundation stone for Safran’s M-88 military engine MRO centre was laid on the same day, adding that the unit would support the Indian Air Force and the Indian Navy.

Revanth Reddy reaffirmed Hyderabad’s position as one of India’s primary aerospace and defence hubs. Citing the state’s strong infrastructure, aerospace parks and SEZs, he said leading global companies such as Safran, Boeing, Airbus, Tata and Bharat Forge have already set up key operations in Hyderabad, including manufacturing and R&D facilities.

He mentioned that Hyderabad has emerged as one of the country’s largest aero-engine and MRO clusters. Aerospace and defence exports have more than doubled over the past year, reaching ₹30,742 crore within nine months. Telangana was also honoured with the Aerospace Award by the Ministry of Civil Aviation.

The Chief Minister said the state places strong emphasis on skill development. Telangana, in collaboration with Tata Technologies, has modernised 100 Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) into Advanced Technology Centres, while the Young India Skills University is offering specialized training for aviation-related sectors.

He further highlighted the development of the Bharat Future City, coming up across 30,000 acres. Inviting global investors, he announced that the “Telangana Rising 2047 – Global Summit” will take place on December 8 and 9 at Bharat Future City, where the state’s long-term vision will be unveiled. Revanth Reddy reiterated Telangana’s aim of becoming a $1 trillion economy by 2035 and a $3 trillion economy by 2047.

He added that he would urge Prime Minister Modi to officially designate the Bengaluru–Hyderabad stretch as a Defence and Aerospace Corridor. The event was attended by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, Union Minister Ram Mohan Naidu and State Minister Sridhar Babu.
