VK Sasikala New Party in Tamil Nadu

VK Sasikala New Party in Tamil Nadu: There has been a significant development in Tamil Nadu politics as V. K. Sasikala formally announced her return to active politics and declared the formation of a new political party.

The former close aide of late Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa unveiled her yet-to-be-named party’s flag during a public meeting held in Ramanathapuram district on the occasion of Jayalalithaa’s birth anniversary.

Addressing the gathering, Sasikala stated that she had remained silent for nine years but could no longer remain a spectator in state politics. She emphasized that her party’s primary objective would be to “eliminate betrayal and safeguard the principles of the Dravidian movement.”

She further affirmed that the party would follow the ideological path laid down by C. N. Annadurai, M. G. Ramachandran, and Jayalalithaa, focusing on the welfare of the poor, marginalized, and common citizens.

The newly unveiled party flag features black, white, and red colours and carries images of Annadurai, MGR, and Jayalalithaa.

During her speech, Sasikala also launched a strong criticism of AIADMK General Secretary Edappadi K. Palaniswami, expressing dissatisfaction over her expulsion from the party.

At present, Sasikala has introduced only the party flag and indicated that the official name of the party will be announced soon.

It is noteworthy that Sasikala remains disqualified from contesting elections until 2027 following her conviction in a disproportionate assets case.
