Hyderabad, Telangana, India: A tragic bus accident in Saudi Arabia has claimed the lives of several pilgrims, including members of two families from Hyderabad. According to reports from November 17, a total of 42 people died when a bus traveling from Mecca to Medina crashed into a diesel tanker.

Among the victims were eight members of the same family, out of which only one person, Mohammed Abdul Shoaib, survived. He is currently receiving treatment at a local hospital, while the remaining seven relatives lost their lives in the incident. The deceased include:

  1. Mohammed Abdul Qadeer (Shoaib’s father)
  2. Gausia Begum (Shoaib’s mother)
  3. Mohammed Moulana (Gausia’s father)
  4. Rahim Unisha
  5. Rehmat B.
  6. Mohammed Mansoor (relative)

One more individual who was traveling with them

Another family also suffered a major loss, with seven members believed to have died in the same crash. Their relatives say they have had no information about them since the accident, and all seven have been missing since that day.

Further details reveal that on November 9, 20 travelers from one group and 24 from another travel agency — Fly Zone — left for Mecca. After completing their pilgrimage, 40 of them proceeded toward Medina, while four chose to stay back in Mecca. Out of the 40 who continued the journey, only one person survived the accident, and the remaining 39 are feared dead.
