West Asia Desk: Tensions are mounting in West Asia following the arrival of the US aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln in the region, sparking widespread speculation about a possible escalation between the United States and Iran.

Along with the aircraft carrier, several other US naval assets, including the destroyers USS Frank E. Peterson Jr., USS Spruance, and USS Michelle Murphy, have also been deployed. According to officials, the carrier strike group is currently operating in the Indian Ocean and is not positioned in the Arabian Sea near Iran. However, the increased presence has significantly boosted the number of US military personnel stationed across the region.
