Delhi Capitals skipper Rishabh Pant is back with full fitness. BCCI released an official statement

Delhi: Indian wicketkeeper batsman Rishabh Pant's long wait is over. He is making his foray into competitive cricket after a gap of almost 15 months. After surviving a fatal road accident in December 2022, fully recovering from his injuries, and finally achieving match fitness, he is going to make a comeback with this IPL.

The BCCI has announced that Pant has achieved reduced fitness to bat as well as keep wickets. With this, Pant will enter the ring as the captain of the Delhi Capitals team in the 17th season of the IPL, which will begin on the 22nd of this month. He is also going to do wicketkeeping in the league. After 14 months of intense recovery after the accident, Rishabh regained full fitness. "He is ready to play in IPL 2024 as a wicket-keeper batsman," said the BCCI. Although it is confirmed that Pant will play in the IPL this time, there were doubts about whether he will keep wickets or not. Ambiguity has been removed with BCCI's announcement.

Along with wicketkeeping, he is going to lead Delhi himself. On the other hand, the pacer of Rajasthan Royals, Pasuram Krishna, will be away from the IPL for the second year in a row. He was ruled out of the league after suffering an injury during the recent Ranji Trophy. It is known that the main pacer of Gujarat Titans Mohammad Shami has also missed the league this time.
