Rahul Chahar, the leg-spinner for Chennai Super Kings, has officially confirmed his divorce from his wife, Ishani Johar, ahead of the upcoming Indian Premier League 2026 season.

The 26-year-old cricketer shared the development through a detailed Instagram post on February 20, stating that the legal proceedings have been completed and the matter has been fully settled.

Rahul Chahar and Ishani Johar were married on March 9, 2022, in Goa. However, the marriage did not endure, and the past 15 months were reportedly spent resolving the matter through legal channels.

In his statement, Chahar acknowledged that he entered marriage at a young age and later realized he did not fully understand himself or his expectations from life at that time. He described the period as challenging yet transformative, highlighting lessons related to patience, honesty, and self-respect.

The spinner emphasized that he is closing this chapter without resentment and is prepared to move forward with clarity and focus.

With personal matters now resolved, Chahar’s attention turns firmly toward IPL 2026. After initially going unsold, he was secured by Chennai Super Kings for Rs 5.20 crore in the mini-auction. He will be aiming to make a strong impact in the upcoming season.

Chahar has played 79 IPL matches so far, claiming 75 wickets. He has also represented India internationally, featuring in one ODI and six T20 Internationals. IPL 2026 presents an opportunity for a renewed beginning, both professionally and personally.
