Sri Lanka Women celebrate 9-wicket victory over West Indies in Grenada T20I

Sri Lanka Women vs West Indies Women T20I Series Win

The Sri Lanka women’s cricket team completed a successful tour of the West Indies with a commanding victory in the final T20I match. Sri Lanka had already secured the ODI series 2–1 earlier in the tour and went on to clinch the T20I series as well.

In the third T20I played in Grenada, Sri Lanka defeated the hosts by nine wickets in a convincing performance.

After losing the toss, West Indies Women opted to bat first but struggled to build momentum. They managed to post 119 runs for the loss of five wickets in their allotted 20 overs. Hayley Matthews (8), Ebony Brathwaite (8), and Shavnisha Hector (5) were dismissed cheaply, putting early pressure on the batting side.

Stephanie Taylor scored 24 runs, Deandra Dottin contributed 28, while Chennell Henry remained unbeaten on 32 to help West Indies cross the 100-run mark.

For Sri Lanka, bowlers Ranweera and Sugandhika Kumari picked up two wickets each, while Kavisha Dilhari claimed one wicket to restrict the hosts to a modest total.

In reply, Sri Lanka Women comfortably chased down the target. Hasini Perera led the batting with an impressive 52 runs, while captain Chamari Atapattu added 32 and Imesha Dulani scored 34.

Sri Lanka successfully reached 121 runs in just 17.4 overs, losing only one wicket to seal the victory.

Hasini Perera was named Player of the Match for her match-winning half-century. Sri Lanka captain Chamari Atapattu received the Player of the Series award for her outstanding performance throughout the tour.

Sri Lanka Women toured the West Indies for a three-match ODI series and a three-match T20I series. They won the ODI series 2–1 and followed it up with a dominant performance in the T20I series as well.

The victory provided some relief for Sri Lankan cricket fans after the men’s team faced disappointment with an early exit from the Super 8 stage of the T20 World Cup 2026.
