Chhattisgarh: 10 Maoists Killed in Sukma Encounter, Weapons Seized
In Sukma district, Chhattisgarh, security forces killed 10 Maoists in an encounter on Friday. The operation, involving the DRG and CRPF, took place in the forests of Korajuguda and nearby areas. Several weapons, including AK-47s and INSAS rifles, were recovered.
Ongoing Search and Anti-Naxal Efforts
The identities of the slain Maoists are yet to be confirmed. The encounter follows another exchange of fire in Odisha-Chhattisgarh border areas, where one Maoist was killed. Chhattisgarh CM Vishnu Deo Sai recently met Union Home Minister Amit Shah, highlighting progress in fighting Naxalism and aiming for a Naxal-free state by 2026.
