At least 11 people, including seven of one family, were killed after heavy rains triggered landslides in Reasi and a cloudburst in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir. Several homes were damaged, and one person remains missing.

Over 160 people have died in recent extreme weather across the region. Train services to Katra are suspended, the Srinagar-Jammu Highway remains closed, and schools in the Jammu division will stay shut till August 30.

CM Omar Abdullah compared the situation to the 2014 floods and urged a review of disaster preparedness.
