Indian Army and Assam Rifles Seize 35 Weapons in Joint Manipur Operation

In a series of joint operations by the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and Manipur Police, 35 weapons, ammunition, and warlike stores were recovered from various regions of Manipur, including Thoubal, Tengnoupal, Bishnupur, Churchandpur, and Imphal West. These operations were carried out based on specific intelligence and led to the seizure of modified sniper rifles, pistols, grenades, and other weapons.

Key recoveries included a modified sniper rifle in Bishnupur, a 9mm submachine gun and a grenade launcher near Khuga River, and various arms and explosives in areas like Maohing, Heirok, and Jiribam. In addition to the weapons, several individuals linked to insurgent groups were apprehended during the operations, including one Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (KYKL) cadre.

The successful operations underscore the collaborative efforts of the Indian Army, Assam Rifles, and local police to maintain peace and security in the region. The seized items have been handed over to the Manipur Police for further action.
