A massive fire broke out in Jaipur early this morning, killing at least five people and injuring 35 others after a truck collided with a CNG tanker parked near a petrol pump. The explosion was so intense that it engulfed several vehicles within a 300-meter radius. Officials fear more casualties as some victims are in critical condition.
The fire, which started around 5:30 am on Ajmer Road, caused repeated explosions, with fuel tanks bursting. Locals reported hearing the blast from up to 10 kilometers away. Initial investigations revealed that the truck involved was carrying chemicals.
Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma visited the hospital to meet the victims and expressed his condolences, ensuring that medical assistance was provided. Rescue operations are ongoing.
This follows another incident earlier this week in Nagaur, where two truck drivers died in a similar fire.
