Madhya Pradesh Roof Collapse Incident
In Mhow, Madhya Pradesh, a tragic incident occurred when the roof slab of an under-construction resort cottage collapsed, killing five labourers. The collapse happened in Choral village, located about 40 km from Indore, while the workers were asleep under the slab on Thursday night.
Emergency services were notified at around 6:30 am on Friday. Police and rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and recovered the bodies of the deceased. Indore (Rural) Superintendent of Police Hitika Wasal confirmed that the operation had concluded, and an investigation into the cause of the collapse is underway.
The accident was discovered when other labourers arrived at the construction site in the morning. Initially, there was confusion about the number of casualties, with reports indicating one death and five workers trapped under the rubble before the final confirmation of five fatalities.
