78 Dead In Himachal Rains, Landslide Alert In Uttarakhand

78 Dead, 37 Missing in Himachal Flood Disaster

Since June 20, Himachal Pradesh has reported 78 deaths due to monsoon-triggered disasters, 50 from rain-related incidents like flash floods, and 28 in road accidents. Mandi is among the worst-hit areas, with major infrastructure damage including blocked roads, power cuts, and water supply disruptions.

Uttarakhand authorities have issued a landslide alert for Tehri, Uttarkashi, Rudraprayag, and Chamoli districts from July 7 to 8, urging heightened vigilance in vulnerable zones due to predicted heavy rainfall and unstable terrain.  Authorities have restricted movement in high-risk zones and placed emergency teams on standby.
