Assam Flood Update: 56 Dead, Over 16 Lakh People Affected Across 29 Districts

The flood situation in Assam has worsened, affecting over 16.50 lakh people across 29 districts.

Major rivers like the Brahmaputra, Digaru, and Kollong are flowing above danger levels, causing extensive inundation of land.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is actively monitoring the situation, with plans to visit affected areas in Guwahati.

The government has directed district officials to expedite relief efforts and ensure rehabilitation before August 15.

Sadly, the death toll has risen to 56, with several others missing.

The affected districts include Barpeta, Dibrugarh, Golaghat, Jorhat, and others severely impacted by floods, landslides, and storms.
