A government school building in Piplodi, Manohar Thana (Jhalawar district), collapsed around 8:30 am on Friday, killing four children and injuring 17. Around 40 children and several staff members were present inside the premises when the roof of the one-storey structure suddenly collapsed, triggering chaos and desperate rescue efforts.

Sources said the structure was in poor condition, with previous complaints raised. The school teaches up to Class 8.

Superintendent of Police Amit Kumar confirmed ten injured children were referred to Jhalawar, with 3–4 in critical condition. Rescue efforts involved locals, JCB machines, disaster relief teams, and the district administration.

Education Minister Madan Dilawar assured a probe and directed proper treatment for the injured. Some victims were shifted to Manohar Thana Hospital, and those severely injured to Jhalawar.
