Ballistic Missile Defence System Test Successful

Odisha :India is becoming increasingly missile-proof.

The Phase-II Ballistic Missile Defence System was successfully tested from Odisha's coast.

The test protects against ballistic missiles with a range of 5000 km.

The system was developed entirely with indigenous technology.

The target missile was launched from LC-IV Dhamra at 4:20 PM as a ballistic missile.

The weapon system radar detected the missile, and the AD interceptor was activated.

The Phase-2 AD endo-atmospheric missile was launched from Chandipur at 4:22 PM.

The flight test achieved all objectives with long-range sensors, low-latency communication systems, MCC, and an advanced interceptor.

The performance was assessed using flight data collected from on-board ships and range tracking systems at various locations.

The Phase-II AD endo-atmospheric missile is a two-stage, solid-propelled, ground-launched system.

This system intercepts incoming ballistic missiles within low exo-atmospheric ranges.

Advanced indigenous technologies developed by DRDO labs were integrated into the system.

The test revalidated India's ballistic missile defense capability, according to Defense Minister Rajnath Singh.
