Bengaluru Horror: Girls Body Found in Suitcase Near Railway Bridge

Girl Body Found in Suitcase Near Railway Bridge

The body of a young woman, estimated to be around 18 years old and yet to be identified, was discovered inside a suitcase near a railway bridge in the southern part of Bengaluru. Authorities suspect the suitcase may have been discarded from a train in motion.

The luggage was found lying beside the tracks near Hosur main road, close to the old Chandapura railway bridge. Preliminary findings indicate that the body was likely packed into the suitcase at a different location and later thrown from a moving train.

Suryanagar police conducted the initial inspection at the scene. Once the Baiyappanahalli railway police reach the site, they are expected to take over the case. A thorough investigation will be launched following the forensic examination of the suitcase.

Bengaluru Rural Superintendent of Police, CK Baba, stated, "It seems the suitcase was tossed from railway premises, possibly from a moving train. Although such cases typically fall under railway police jurisdiction, we are involved since the incident occurred within our limits. There were no identity documents or personal items with the deceased, so her identity remains unknown."

Efforts are ongoing to establish the girl's identity and unravel the events that led to her death.

In a separate case dated May 12, 2024, the remains of a 14-year-old tribal girl, who was deaf and mute, were found near the railway tracks in Ramanagara, Karnataka.

Deputy Chief Minister of Karnataka, DK Shivakumar, who met with the bereaved family in Bhadrapura village, said, "A case has been registered. We wont interfere with the investigation. The police must explore all possibilities—be it revenge, a relationship, or sexual assault. Its our responsibility to see that justice is served."
