Kolkata, West Bengal: Union Home Minister Amit Shah formally unveiled the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s election manifesto, titled ‘Sankalp Patra’, for the upcoming West Bengal Assembly elections.
The manifesto outlines a series of welfare measures and development initiatives aimed at various sections of society. Among the key promises, the BJP announced a monthly financial assistance of ₹3,000 for women and an unemployment allowance of ₹3,000 for youth.
The party also pledged to implement the Uniform Civil Code (UCC) within six months of assuming power. Additionally, it assured the implementation of the Seventh Pay Commission recommendations and declared a minimum support price (MSP) of ₹3,100 for paddy farmers.
Further commitments include providing ₹21,000 in financial assistance to pregnant women and introducing 33 percent reservation for women in government jobs. The manifesto also emphasizes infrastructure and educational development, with proposals to establish premier institutions such as IITs and IIMs in North Bengal.
Highlighting governance priorities, Shah stated that a comprehensive development roadmap for the state would be prepared within 100 days of forming the government. He also criticized the ruling Trinamool Congress (TMC), alleging corruption and misgovernance, and asserted that decisive steps would be taken to curb infiltration in the state.
