Three bodies, believed to be those of a woman and two children, were found floating in River Jiri in Manipur's Jiribam district, where six people went missing earlier this week. The bodies were taken to Silchar Medical College Hospital in Assam for an autopsy. While officials suspect the bodies are those of the missing individuals, confirmation is pending, and autopsies are being conducted. Due to limited facilities in Jiribam, autopsies are performed in Assam. Following recent violence in the area, Assam’s Cachar district has been placed on high alert with increased patrolling.
