The death toll from the recent cloudburst in Himachal Pradesh has climbed to 22. Recovery operations have located 22 bodies, while more than 30 people remain missing. Affected areas include Kullu, Mandi, and Shimla, with Samej village in Rampur subdivision hit hardest.
The state faces widespread disruptions, with over 100 roads closed due to landslides 58 transformers, and 15 water supply schemes out of service. Continuous rain has prompted an orange alert for heavy rainfall and flash floods.
Rescue teams, including the Army and NDRF, are working with advanced equipment to aid in recovery. Since June 27, rain-related incidents have claimed 94 lives and caused Rs 787 crore in damages.
