Kota MBBS student suicide news

A final-year MBBS student in Kota, Rajasthan, died by suicide in his hostel room, leaving behind a note apologizing to his parents for not meeting expectations. The student had been living in Kota for three years and was reportedly under stress. His body was discovered after fellow students broke into his locked room. Police have handed over the body to his parents and are investigating further.

Kota, a major hub for NEET and JEE aspirants, has seen six student suicides this year, with 20 cases reported in 2024. To address this, the district administration has mandated anti-suicide ceiling fans, eliminated security deposits in hostels, and introduced measures like biometric attendance, CCTV, and recreation areas under the Kota Cares Campaign.
