Stone Quarry Collapse In Mizoram : A tragedy has taken place in Mizoram. 10 workers died after a granite quarry collapsed in Aizawl district. Many people are reported to be trapped under the rubble. After learning about the matter, the police and rescue officials have reached the spot and are continuing the rescue operations. However, due to heavy rains in the area due to the effect of the Remal typhoon, the relief efforts have been hampered, officials said. 

The government has announced that due to the unsustainable rains, schools have already been closed in the state, and government employees have been asked to work from home. Officials said that many national highways and main roads have also been closed due to landslides. Also, due to landslides on National Highway 6, Aizawl's connections with other areas have been completely severed. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has warned that there is a chance of heavy rains in Assam and other northeastern states for the next two days.
