Himachal Pradesh High Court Issues Notice To Kangana Ranaut Over Election Nomination Dispute

The Himachal Pradesh High Court has served a notice to Bollywood actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut, who recently secured the Mandi constituency seat in the Lok Sabha elections. a margin of 74,755 votes over Congress rival Vikramaditya Singh.

Layak Ram Negi from Kinnaur has filed a petition alleging that Ranaut's nomination papers were unfairly accepted while his nomination was improperly rejected. Negi claims he complied with the required documentation, including a 'No Due Certificate' from his previous job in the forest department.

He argues that additional certificates from other departments were demanded unreasonably and that had his nomination been accepted, he would have won the election. The court has ordered Ranaut to explain by the 21st of next month.
