A severe storm struck Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, uprooting trees and blocking roads. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) issued an orange alert for the region, forecasting more heavy rainfall and strong winds over the next few days. Affected areas include Chamba, Kangra, Kullu, Shimla, and Lahaul-Spiti. IMD also warned of hailstorms and advised residents to take precautions.
