The police arrested Sachin, who confessed to the crime during interrogation. He revealed that they had a strained relationship, and he killed Himani in a fit of rage after an argument over money. Sachin strangled her with a mobile charger wire after tying her hands with a stole.

Sachin then stuffed her body into her suitcase, along with a blood-stained quilt, and dumped it near the Sampla bus stand. The investigation also recovered Himani's mobile phone, laptop, and tablet from the scene. Her family has demanded the death penalty for the accused.

Himani, who had gained attention for her involvement in Congress events, was reportedly being blackmailed by Sachin for money. The police have set up a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to probe further, while her family continues to press for justice.
